Laurel Holloman is a US actress coming from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was born just as the horoscope turned to Gemini in '71. While studying at Uni of North Carolina she was involved in drama productions on stage. For good decade, this strawberry blonde was in theatres. Amongst some of the productions are Glass Menagerie, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter and Night Swims. First in her home state, then in Chicago, and finally in NY.
It is only in the mid nineties that she came on the screens to the wide audience in her first ever movie role in The Incredible True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. Her parents and the strict upbringing caused a stir, but she received positive reviews for this portrayal. After this, a string of low budget independent movies followed including The Myth of Fingerprints ('97), Boogie Nights ('97), Committed ('00), Last Ball ('01) and others.
She was also in TV series Angel for almost a year in the new century. She is possibly best known for her part in The L Word (for at least 5 years) for which she won a Golden Sattellite Award in '05 in a category for Best Actress in Drama Series. The last production she is involved in is TV series Gigantic ('10). Though she played mainly lesbians, she actually got married 8 years ago to Paul Macherey and they have 2 girls (their own daughter who's approaching 6 now and another adopted on 2 years ago).
She was never involved in any scandals, and leads a healthy life as much as possible. Laurel Holloman is an outdoorsy person and lives in LA, giving her the options to go close to the ocean or get involved in other sporting activities.
